What BugDog collects

When you file a bug report, BugDog captures the following from your browser:

• The URL and title of the current page
• Browser name, version, OS, screen resolution, viewport size, language
• Screenshots you explicitly take (user-initiated only)
• Screen recordings you explicitly start (user-initiated only)
• Console errors and failed network requests (if enabled in preferences)
• On Shopify stores: store name, page surface, theme ID, product handle, order number (parsed from the URL)

What BugDog does NOT collect

• Passwords or form field values
• Personal or customer data
• Browsing history
• Cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage
• Data from pages you don't actively file a report on
• Any data in the background (BugDog only captures when you click a button)

Where your data goes

Bug reports are sent directly from the extension to your configured PM tool (Wrike, Jira, or your webhook endpoint). BugDog's servers never see the content of your bug reports, screenshots, or recordings.

The only data BugDog's server receives is your email address and extension ID for license validation. This is stored in a database on our server to track your subscription status.

Third-party services

• Stripe processes payments. Their privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy
• Wrike / Jira / webhook endpoints receive bug reports via their APIs using your own OAuth credentials. Their privacy policies apply to data stored in their systems.

Data storage

• Form drafts and preferences are stored locally in your browser via Chrome's storage API. They never leave your device unless you submit a report.
• OAuth tokens for PM tools are stored locally in your browser. They are not sent to BugDog's server.
• Your license status (email, plan, subscription dates) is stored on BugDog's server.

Data retention

License records are retained as long as your account exists. If you uninstall the extension and request deletion, email privacy@weareblue.dog and we will delete your record within 30 days.
